Statement of Reasons

In January 2020 the Council introduced the Care & Health Workers’ Parking Exemption Scheme. Following feedback from the current users it is proposed to simplify the scheme and allow up to 3 hours parking on the exempted restrictions (No Waiting, Limited Waiting, Pay & Display and Residents Parking) in Devon.

The restrictions are proposed to preserve/improve the amenities of the area through which the roads run.

Making use of special Government funding, we have arranged for additional dedicated school buses to duplicate some public bus services where social distancing would otherwise make it impossible to accommodate everyone. Whilst social distancing continues to be in force on public buses, Government guidance does not require distancing on vehicles dedicated purely to school and college passengers. Additional coaches have also been arranged on rail routes. Details of all additional services appear on the Travel Devon website:https://www.traveldevon.info/bus/latest-news-service-updates/

For short journeys, the Government are encouraging everyone to consider walking and cycling.

Playing Field and Play Equipment – June Update

In line with current Government Guidance and for safety the play equipment remains out of order in accordance with the scientific and medical advice that the Covid -19 virus can remain on metal surfaces for up to 72 hours.

The Parish Council is taking the opportunity to carry out extensive maintenance and repair works to the play equipment and skatepark. The entrance and footpath has recently been relaid to improve access for residents.

The Parish Council would like to thank everyone who has co-operated and complied with the Government social distancing guidelines and who have helped in supporting our neighbours during the crisis.

We are assessing the advice daily and will open the facilities as soon as it is considered and advised it is safe to do so.
