AMENITIES COMMITTEE MINUTES FOR THE AMENITIES MEETING OF IPPLEPEN PARISH COUNCIL ON TUESDAY 08^th OCTOBER 2024

The meeting opened at 19:07 hours

1. The Chairman opened the Meeting and received apologies from:

Cllr Jon Ranjit (JR)

2. To declare any interests arising at this meeting and to consider any dispensation requests relating to this meeting.

No interests were declared.

3. The Council adjourned for the following items:

Public Question Time: A period of 10 minutes allowed for members of the public to ask questions or make comment regarding the work of the Council or other items that affect Ipplepen.

4. The Council convened to review and conduct the following business:

1. A381 verge clearance

Agreed price. Contractor contacted. Works to commence as agreed date

1. Solar panels

Installation of solar panel contract awarded to contractor. Unsuccessful contractors have received notification from Cat.

 DB/ Cat Freston to liaise to apply / complete application for Green Business Grant. RC emphasised that we need to ensure on application that we advise that we are utilising electric generated from solar panels for use in the toilet block at the Recreation Ground.

1. Allotment inspection, arrange date.

DP meeting with Cat 21.10.2024 09:00

1. Clampitt Rd toilet refurb

RC has put signage up on toilets and posted on Ipplepen FB to advise works commencing. Works commencing 14 Oct 24

1. Remembrance Sunday

Wreath organised. Need confirmation of how many Councillors will be attending service in church

1. Christmas Tree

RC advised tree ordered. Suggested last weekend in November for installation

1. Arrange date for Emergency Plan Review meeting

RC advised that previously held annually. DP to review

1. Inspection of Grit bins

RC querying if JR has been registered as the new Snow Warden.-Action JR

Qty of grit in bins needs checking- Action-SL  

RC to provide list of locations of grit bins to SL

JR to check quantity of grit in store-Action JR

RC suggested that salt spreader needs attention/ maintenance/servicing-JR to action

DP proposed purchase of replacement hand spreader. Aware of one available

-Reminder that Blackstone Cross meeting with developer is scheduled for Wed 23 Oct 15:30 to 20:00. DP has posted notification on Ipplepen FB page
